Save the Dates:

November 5th at 7:30 pm: Quarterly Membership Meeting:  election of Executive Board.

Lectures and Talks:

Sunday, October 18: Two separate Events

Lecturer John Adams will speak at 2:00 pm on the topic: “Does Christian Science Really Heal Sin and Sickness?” at the First Church, Santa Monica new church complex at the 505 Arizona address in downtown Santa Monica.

The Chino and Riverside/San Bernardino Institutional Committees guest speaker will be Julio Rivas, CS, 2:00 pm at 1429 N. Euclid Ave, Ontario, CA just two blocks of the 10 Freeway.

Saturday, October 24 at 10:30 am:  “Christian Science Healing:  A Baptism of the Holy Spirit” by Ryder Stevens, CSB, at Huntington Beach Central Library, 7111 Talbert Avenue just off Golden West Street.

Sunday, October 25 at 2:00 pm:  “Feeling God’s Presence and Hearing His messages” by Suzanne Riedel, CSB, at First Church, Palos Verdes Peninsula, 4010 Palos Verdes Dr., North (at Via Campesina), Palos Verdes Estates.

On Tuesday, October 20th, First Church of Christ, Scientist, Beverly Hills in conjunction with The Christian Science Committee on Institutional Work in Greater Los Angeles, is sponsoring two lectures at the Federal Metropolitan Detention Center in downtown Los Angeles. Tim Myers, C.S. of La Canada will be giving two talks, one for women at 6:00 p.m. and one for men at 7:00 p.m. The title is “Remove the Mask and See the Child of God.”

As a participating Branch Church, our members are being asked to metaphysically support this opportunity to reach out with a “cup of cold water” to those presently unable to attend lectures on “the outside.” Love knows no walls.

Our newly elected Readers are Kathy Kilgore, First Reader, and Marry Moore, Second Reader. They will begin reading the Sunday following Sacrament Sunday in January 2010.  Congratulations!

First Church, Long Beach is now meeting at the same location as Fourth Church, Long Beach:  3629 Atlantic Avenue, Long Beach. One Sunday service will be held at 9:30 am and the second Sunday service will be held at 11:00 am, and Wednesday Evening Services will be 5:30 pm and 7:00 pm.
