Christian Science Committee on Institutional Work in Greater LA

            A recent Christian Science service at the Terminal Island facility, held by the assigned Chaplain & two Workers, was attended by many of the “regulars” - & the report noted that these inmates “are humbly grateful and have a good sense of humor.” This bears out the statement in Miscellaneous Writings

[p. 117] that “there are wit, humor, and enduring vivacity among God’s people.”

            Chestnut Hill and Twelveacres are both conducting individual campaigns for fund raising.  Both have received matching grant funds, which means that every dollar you donate will be doubled.

            Broadview has become the “safety net” for Christian Scientists who need help beyond what they can receive at home but cannot afford.  Broadview is helping to ensure that a “practical, spiritual Christianity, with its healing power” (No and Yes) is available to those who are radically relying on Christian Science for healing.  Broadview is asking for help to defray some of these expenses:
